For over 35 years, Cardiology Associates of Corpus Christi has been providing cardiovascular services for the Coastal Bend. Currently, Cardiology Associates is a multi-cardiologist group providing both non-invasive and invasive diagnostics and therapeutic modalities to the residents of South Texas. The practice is the largest and oldest cardiology practice in Corpus Christi. The main office is centrally located in the Corpus Christ Medical Tower at 1521 S. Staples, with a southside location at Bay Area Medical Center. Satellite offices include Kingsville, Alice, Rockport and Beeville.
Dr. Carlos Martinez-Quinonez was born in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico.
He received his undergraduate degree and his medical degree from the University
of Puerto Rico in Rio Piedras. He completed his Internship at
the University District Hospital in Rio Piedras, and his Residency at
the University of Puerto Rico. He completed a Fellowship in Cardiology at the
University of Puerto Rico in 1982.
Dr. Martinez-Quinonez specializes in the field of Cardiology. He is
certified by the Board of Nuclear Cardiology.
Carlos E. Martinez, M.D.
Dr. Doug Pappas was born in Galveston, Texas. He received his undergraduate
degree from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, and his medical degree
from Texas Tech University School of Medicine. He received his Doctor
of Jurisprudence from the University of Houston College of Law in
Houston. He completed his Internship in Medicine and his Residency
at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock. He completed
a Fellowship in Cardiology at the University of Texas Health Sciences
Center in Houston in 1993.
Dr. Pappas specializes in the field of Cardiology. He is Board
Certified in Interventional Cardiology, Cardiovascular Disease,
and Internal Medicine. He is a Member of the State Bar of Texas.

John Douglas Pappas, M.D., F.A.C.C.
Dr. Rafael Coutin was born in Baracoa, Oriente Cuba. He received
his undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina in
Chapel Hill, North Carolina where he was a Morehead Scholarship
recipient and a Phi Beta Kappa. He also received his medical degree
from the University of North Carolina. He completed his Internship
at John Sealy Hospital in Galveston, Texas, and his Residency at
the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. He completed
a Fellowship in Cardiology at the University of Texas Medical Branch
at Galveston in 1982
Dr. Coutin specializes in the field of Cardiology. He is Board
Certified in both Cardiovascular Disease and Internal Medicine.

Dr. Scott McKinstry was born in St. Louis, Missouri. He received
his undergraduate degree from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska,
and his medical degree from Washington University School of Medicine
in St. Louis, Missouri. He completed his Internship and his Residency
at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.
He completed a Fellowship in Cardiology at Medical University of
South Carolina in Charleston in 1999.
Dr. McKinstry specializes in the field of Cardiology. He is
Board Certified in Interventional Cardiology, Cardiovascular Disease,
and Internal Medicine.
Scott W. McKinstry, M.D.
Gabor was born in Tatabanya, Hungary. He received his medical degree
from Semmelweis University of Medicine in Budapest, Hungary. He completed
his Internship and Residency in Internal Medicine at Baylor College
of Medicine. Dr. Szalai also completed both his Cardiology Fellowship
and his Fellowship in Interventional Cardiology at Baylor College
of Medicine.
Dr. Szalai specializes in the field of Adult Cardiovascular
Disease. He is Board Certified in Cardiovascular Disease and Internal
Medicine, and the Board of Nuclear Cardiology. He is certified in
Echocardiography and Coronary CT Angiography.

Dr. Mike Rodriguez was born in Chicago, Illinois. He received
his undergraduate degree from the University of San Diego in San
Diego, California, and his medical degree from Chicago Medical
School in Chicago. He completed his Internship and his Residency
at the University of California in San Diego. In 1993, he completed
a Fellowship in Cardiology at the University of California in
Irvine, and an Interventional Fellowship at St. Vincent’s Heart
Institute in Portland, Oregon in 1994.
Dr. Rodriguez joined Cardiology Associates of Corpus Christi
in 1994. After spending 13 years with CACC, Dr. Rodriguez and
his family moved to California. He was with La Mesa Cardiac Center
for 2 years. We are pleased to welcome back Dr. Rodriguez and
his family to Cardiology Associates and to Corpus.
Dr. Rodriguez specializes in the field of Cardiology. He is Board Certified in both Cardiovascular Disease and Internal Medicine. Dr. Rodriguez is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology.

Dr. Mossaab Shuraih is a cardiologist in Corpus Christi, Texas. He is currently licensed to practice medicine in Texas and has more than 20 years of diverse experiences.
He received his medical degree from University of Aleppo Faculty of Medicine. He graduated with honors in 2001.
Dr. Shuraih specializes in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology. He is Board Certified in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology, Cardiovascular Disease, and Internal Medicine.

Dr. Sridhar Venkatachalam, MD, is specialist in Cardiovascular Disease and Internal Medicine. He practices in Corpus Christi, Texas. He graduated with honors from Madurai Medical College in 1995. He completed a residency at Rhc St Francis Hospital.

Dr. Neel Kapasi joins our practice and he is relocated to the Coastal Bend from Los Angeles, CA. Dr. Kapasi earned his medical degree at University of Vermont (UVM), College of Medicine, Burlington, VT, completed his Internship and Residency at University of Washington School of Medicine, Seattle WA. He completed his Fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease at University of Southern California (USC), Los Angeles, CA. Dr. Kapasi is certified by the American Board of Internal and Cardiovascular Disease Medicine.
Dr. Kapasi specializes in the field of Cardiology. He is Board Certified in Cardiovascular Disease.
Neel K. Kapasi, M.D.
Dr Toole is a native of Chicago, Illinois. He attended Howard University in Washington D.C. He received his Medical Degree from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee in 1987. Dr Toole completed Internal Medicine residency at Loyola University Medical Center, Maywood, Illinois. He completed training in Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center, Houston. He was the first to complete Interventional Cardiology Fellowship at the University of Texas Health Science Center, San Antonio in 1994. He earned a master’s in public health from The University of Texas Medical Branch Galveston. Dr Toole completed residency in Aerospace Medicine at the Naval Aerospace Medical Institute, NAS Pensacola, Florida in 2006.
Dr Toole specializes in the fields of Cardiology and Aerospace medicine. His board certifications include Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Medicine, Interventional Cardiology and Aerospace/Preventive Medicine. He is a member of the American Association of Physician leadership and has earned Certified Physician Executive (CPE) designation. Dr Toole is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the Aerospace Medicine Association.
